I guess as teachers we are allowed to have not so good days too!
On a happier note - be sure to sign up for the fabulous giveaways from 17 awesome bloggers in the Back to School Bash going on. There are some awesome prizes. I've personally got my eye on that Silhouette. I've been waffling back and forth whether to get one or not for about, oh, 4 YEARS! It started with the Cricut where I almost got one for my birthday. Then I discovered the next gen. of cutting machines. I've seen the fab-u-lous things my teacher friends have made and I think they're awesome, but I just can't justify the expense in my little ol' head. I always talk myself out of it. It is quite an investment. Don't get me wrong. I have bought some things. I have a laminator and a comb binder that I can use at home or in my classroom, but they were a lot less expensive than one of the cutting machines. Anyhooo.....I would LOVE to win one! That would solve my whole problem.
BTW - It's hubby's and my 15th anniversary today. Here's a brief rundown on how we ended up together. Mutual friends of ours were getting married. I was a friend of the bride and was the Maid of Honor. He was a friend of the groom and was the Best Man. Romantical, huh? So.....16 years ago, he and I were decorating the church's Fellowship Hall and goofed around a little. I didn't think much of it. He lived about 2 hours away from where I lived, so I wasn't thinking of him as a possibility. The wedding went well and the bride and groom took us out to dinner that night. (Yep, the wedding night!) After that we ended up talking on the phone and decided to go out again. Then there was a BIG lull in our dating and for some reason (read God) we started talking and we were never apart again. He proposed on Valentine's Day and we were married 1 year to the day we had met for the wedding of our friends.
That may be why my heart just wasn't in to working at school today. It didn't seem right on our anniversary, even though he was at work too.
Well.....I'm working on preparing work stations for the next - YIKES - 3 months! Holy printer ink, Batman! I want to square things away so I am waaaaay ahead and don't get myself stuck working on stations every weekend. I have got August and September covered. Now I'm working on October and November. There are such great things out there it's sometimes hard to narrow down what I want to buy. I have to reign myself in with the thought that there isn't a lot of time to do things, so I shouldn't overbuy. One thing I'm set on is the set of Morning Menus from Michelle Oaks at Fabulous in First. She has bundled the set now and you can get it for a discount. Check it out on TpT. I have the August/September one almost ready to go. As I mentioned earlier, Mr. Copier was none too friendly to me today, so I didn't get the things printed for the Morning Menu that I wanted. Uggh. I hope the copier is in a better mood next time we're together. LOL!
This is the most spastic post I think I've left to date. Thanks for listening to me vent a little. :)
After all of that, you deserve a little FREEBIE! I get so tired so quickly of hearing tattles in my room, so I created Tattle Monster notes to go with a cute poster I found on Pinterest. I leave the notes in a plush monster Halloween bucket and the kids can write things that happened that would be tattles if they told me. I read them periodically throughout the day to see if any of the situations need teacher intervention. I get a lot of "he looked at me mean" and "she said my picture was scribbly". Every once in a while there is something a little more serious that warrants further investigation. For the most part I think it allows the kiddos to get some frustration off their chests and vent a little with no repercussions from me about tattling. Click here to download: Tattle Monster Notes
